The group was organized in 1996 under the supervision of Dr. Maria Dinescu and is made up of a dynamic team of both young and experienced researchers, as well as several technicians.
The main focus of our research agenda is the laser processing of functional thin films and nanostructures, as well as processing of functional polymers, proteins and cell transfer for tissue engineering, and many more. The processing of such materials in our laboratories is done by means of Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), Radiofrequency plasma beam assisted PLD (RF-PLD), Matrix-Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE), and Laser-Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT). Our facilities also allow us to carry out a wide array of materials analyses, from structural and morphological measurements, to optical, electrical, magnetical, and other functional characterizations of samples.
The results of our research have been the subject of a significant number of publications, and our team was and continues to be involved in several national and international research projects.
